Sire of Shards? Act 4* Unique Naming

Just wanted to make this a quick one. Is the name of the new unique staff "Sire of Shards" a typo? I mean, sire is a word used to address a king. It has nothing to do with a staff.
The closest thing I think of when I see it is "Spire", which sounds much more reasonable.
Am I correct in thinking this is a typo, or is this the intended name?
