Now that desync is being 'fixed' - Cyclone + multistrike?
Come on GGG, you know you want to.

" Because a level 1 mana cost of 24 just begs a 180% mana multiplier, doesn't it...
Spoiler
Not strictly saying it's a trash suggestion, but let's be real...this is cyclone we're talking about...

Nope, part of the reason it was as bad for that combination was the way it randomly selected targets on the additional attacks from multi strike.
Desync is not gone from the game FYI, they are adding a lockstep mode alongside the current method of sync which is still prone to being out of sync and will definetly get out of sync with multistrike added back in. Even then with he lockstep mode it will feel terrible using cyclone/multistrike for people with slightly high latency(and there will still be more than a few) not to mention the usualy latency spikes or those using wireless connections Ancestral Bond. " The delay/lag wouldn't increase because of the use of the gem though, the lag would be consistent regardless of what the player does except when their connection to the server falters. You are of course right that the other connectivity mode will still exist and thus the chances of the mechanic being reinstated isn't likely, because of this. " I didn't say it would cause it...if you used mutlistrike in lockstep you will be waiting for it to choose it's target, you whack a bit of latency on that and you'll see pronounced stuttering between each target selection and the more attack speed you have the more notticable it'll be Ancestral Bond. essentially, the new lockstep mode adds additional checks to ensure that you stay in sync. these additional checks exacerbate latency issues due to increased communication with the server.
Ex (assuming latency of 50ms, for math's sake): Normal mode: Client: Can you hear me? Server: Yes. elapsed time due to latency: 100ms Lockstep mode: Client: Can you hear me? Server: Yes. Please confirm that I have heard you. Client: Hearing event confirmed. elapsed time due to latency: 150ms Now, if this "Can you hear me" needs to be repeated once for each target (as well as your location, targets' locations, etc), you can see why lockstep mode might cause issues on a high latency connection, and why something like Cyclone-Multistrike would exacerbate that. *this is not how normal or lockstep actually works, and is for demonstration purposes only based upon what lagwin said IGN Stuns_McNutshot | Ichimans_McIchimans | Balls_McCritterson Last edited by tsftd on Apr 19, 2015, 4:30:44 AM

" Edritch Battery? Blood magic? " They changed how cyclone works recently. It doesn't target enemy units any more, it targets a destination. Player since closed beta 2012. Full system specs: https://pastebin.com/c4rvbvSR
