@K0rrupted - I think duelist is good for a stun bow build. He's right smack in the middle of it and has a very efficient path to do it.
After getting into a fair number of builds now I've found that class is pretty much irrelevant. For me it all comes down to build and skill gems. If I don't get the right skill gems, then regardless of class I can struggle a bit.

Then again I've mostly taken or made builds that suit the class. I haven't tried making a sword and board tank with a Witch or a Arc Crit. specialist with a Marauder, etc.

I find shadow to be most versatile, you can go bows, wands, any sort of crit 1h melee(dagger, sword, claw, sceptre), spellcaster, CoC, trapper, etc. That being said, duelist is the best melee class, period. No matter what kind of melee. Even the start isn't that bad. Whereas marauder gets to choose from dps start or life/armor start, duelist can be full dps or hybrid dps/life.

it might be easier to say which classes are the worst.

in which case scion and duelist kind of crush that category

scion in particular basically has to waste 4 passive nodes to escape all the garbage around her start

I like the shadow start. It's well positioned for a lot of builds and gives you some great stuff right off the bat.

Well, it's easy to pick out duelist as the _worst_ class, but it seems like it's a toss-up between Witch and Templar, with Witch having the edge in Hardcore.

In the 1-month leagues, the witch retained her dominance in Hardcore but lost convincingly to the templar in softcore. Though the Shadow was actually more convincingly 2nd/maybe tied 1st with the witch in Hardcore.



I dont really know if thats the right way to look at it tbh. Ladder pushers are just playing prolif flame blast because of how cheap, effective, easy to gear it is, how it synergises with exp gear etc. That doesnt really speak to the over all strength of classes in the game, just what classes are good for flameblast. It depends what criteria you judge on.

Templars and Witches have probably the weakest defensive options of all the classes and some of the lowest dps potential in a lot of cases. Wanding, crit daggers and crit staves are a thing for those classes and can achieve some extreme deeps, but those builds are being done more optimally with either shadows/rangers/scions for wanding/daggers and marauders for crit staves for the most. What witches and templars mostly do, spell casting, often non crit, has a pretty low dps and survivability ceiling.


Shadows and Rangers doing coil evasion ondars acro physical crit builds with bows, daggers and wands are getting over double the damage and double the survivability. Ladder pushers are looking at that and saying "can I get a gg phys crit weapon, a 6L coil, a rats nest, the full 60ex+ package in the first 4 days of this ladder?.. no. Can I do those builds while using Supreme Truths, Perandus rings and a Chitus Apex?.. no. Ok so what build can I do with easy to get gear and be effective with those items? flameblast. So Im rolling templar..."

I dont think thats enough to say Templar is the best class in the game, Duelist is a better class than Templar imo, more op damage and survivability builds are possible with a duelist, way more. Reason people dont make them is because the same builds are usually even better with a Shadow or a Ranger. Crits bows, daggers and wands vs crit staves, its 3 v 1 and the staves have by far the worst survivability options of the 4. Spells? Weak, theyre just so weak in most cases, casters with gg 6 link setups are nearly killing themselves on ele reflect with dps levels that are considered absolutely shit for attack builds, the attack builds are getting 3x that much dps and running double reflect maps without a care while having defense levels that no caster can possibly achieve.
