Hi, would this build work for lightning spells e.g. storm call, lightning tendrils etc.?
I tried max life and energy shield and vaal pact for survivability, is this a good idea?
Also, should i give up the increased crit chance and crit multipliers for something else?

No it's not, you probably won't have enough mana - focus on life and try get a CoD to turn your ES into mana and effective life.

Remember Vaal Pact only works if you reach a certain threshold where the leech will become faster than 20%.
