Failed Creating the Direct3D device error

Your graphics card could definitely use a driver update. Check the Nvidia website for the most recent drivers. I believe some have come out in March of this year.

Did you have that 'd3dx9_42.dll' error with Path of Exile or a different program? You may need to check your EventViewer log for any errors involving PathOfExile.exe (or PathOfExileSteam.exe if you use Steam) and make sure your Nvidia Control Center is up-to-date. You can also make sure your DirectX is updated by navigating to the Redist folder in your Path of Exile installation directory.
