Multiple crafting mod on an already crafted item ?

I'd like to buy an item that has already been crafted by a master. So this item has currently ONE crafted mod, but it has room for a second crafted mod.

My question is :

Is it possible to craft the "multiple crafting mod" on this kind of item, and if yes, will it preserve the mod that's already crafted ?

The multi mod craft has to be the first, so you'd have to remove the already crafted mod to add it. It counts as a suffix, so if your item only has room for 1 more, you'll gain nothing by taking the spot up with the multi mod craft.
