Physical damage auras

So...the other day I learned that a good way to scale damage using a weapon is to use auras (hatred, anger, wrath) or heralds.

Why there is no physical damage aura (or herald)? Something that applies after all the elemental effects (of course), so one could play a pure physical damage build.

Should it be a flat or percentual increase in damage?

PS: In another thread people were discussing why elemental damage could stun and why physical damage has nothing going for it. I think tha stun should be something that goes for physical damage and a theoretical herald (maybe that Herald of Stone Rory talked about) should reduce the stun threshold...

I think it would be too strong. We have Facebreaker builds..

phys damage has two "little" advantages: Cant be resisted (with some exceptions) and works with leech mods from gear and tree

That's not possible with the way the game was coded, sadly. The only thing that would work and not be totally broken with FBs is a very weak (think like haste-weak) "increased physical damage" (note, not "more physical damage") aura that reserves 60% of your mana. It would probably see some use (it would synergize with Hatred--again, your suggestion of "after other bonuses" fails to understand how the current game mechanics work), but it would be marginal enough that I don't think it would win out over the other options very often. Probably mostly only lowlife blood magic builds already capable of running 6 60% reservation auras.

If they wanted to they could just not allow it to work with xxx unique

It is possible.

they'd have to nerf every physical damage weapon in the game to compensate, or buff every monster


I don't think facebreaker is the reason for no physical damage aura, because all they have to do is say it only effects weapon damage

More valid concerns are puncture and wanding
Take Dominating Blow and kill Monsters with the Auras "Allies Deal Extra Physical Damage" or "Allies Deal Substantial Extra Physical Damage", or get a Headhunters Belt, profit.

Or party with a buddy and ask him to wear a leer cast. That's 15% increased GLOBAL damage.

Or have 5 people doing that. Wanna enjoy 75%?
