What is Corruption?

What is Corruption? I see only word "corrupted"

Corrupted means you can not use any orbs on the item anymore, for example you could not use a jeweller's orb to change the number of sockets of a corrupted chest.

Corruption can be applied with a Vaal Orb, which will always "corrupt" the item, but may also have other random results. For example, a corrupted item can have a new implicit mod or white sockets. The Vaal Orb can also do nothing though, or even make the item worse, for example turn a unique into a rare.

Here is a list of all possible new modifiers a corruption can create.

there are four possible outcomes with equal chance

* nothing happens (except the item is corrupted)
* some sockets turn white
* item gains new implicit modifier
* item is rerolled to random 6 mod rare (some other interesting outcomes, like 1/36 chance for item to spawn with max sockets all linked)

Yep. Unless the mods were messed up completly, it didn't change anything.

There was no new implicit added, and obviously no sockets changed.
