And what does that look like?
how about something similar to what a glass window/dome looks like, on a rainy day?
red of course, because the rain is red.
or how about "anything but a 'bigger Proximity Shield'"?
come on man.
and people who died to this crap at the start (including myself), when the rain would kill you in seconds - were not amused. nor did they have any idea what to do.
the first time I actually entered the bubble and found out it protects from the rain, was when I played melee against Dominus. it wasn't a "hmm maybe I should get in there when rain" moment. it was "me melee. me tank".
this isn't a fair mechanic.
Storm Call/Flameblast "move or die" is a fair mechanic.
Vaal Slam "incoming giant rock" is a fair mechanic.
Blood Rain "I'm bleeding from an unavoidable source, and Dominus is just a big Undying Evangelist", is not a fair mechanic.
So if we help players in telling them right away what everything dangerous does in the game how do we do the same for monsters as they get 1 shot by players left and right and thats also dumb. But i get it, its the "i want to kill everything, i never want do get killed by anything" generation of gamers. Good old days people failed at mario land, these days its all about holding hands, no game overs anymore and just being too good to players.

I'm a 40+ year old nerd who likely played games before you were born, on consoles and operating systems you only read about in Wikipedia.
some old-school games were extremely unforgiving, but the common thing to all of them is, if something hit you or killed you, it was clearly visible what that was, and pretty obvious what you need to do to avoid it - even if it was insanely hard to actually do that.
even Ninja Gaiden bosses, bullet-hell fights and Atziri with her Double Flame blast or screen-full of Storm Calls that leaves you 10 quarter-pixels of a safe zone - is a more fair mechanic than "oh my god the whole screen is something that drains my life! where do I go now?", with something that looks just like a fkn Prox Shield but turns out to be a fkn safe zone you'll only find by accident.
you think the game would no longer be "hardcore" if you change the thing's colour/shape to something the player can actually translate to "safe zone"?
make the "rain drops" bigger so the player actually sees them hitting his character?
EDIT: Zana just opened up a 74 Palace. Extra boss damage. extra monster damage as fire. burning ground.
one portal.
nailed it :)
heck of a fight.
but if I didn't know the aura thing is a "rain shield", I would have certainly RIPed and failed.

I'm Chunda, and I give zero fucks.
Don't you think the bubbles telling you to step inside them in the region before Dominus is a clue?
And the drops don't need bigger, it's meant to be the entire screen.

I deleted the second guy, i actually don't mind rerolling, i have at least 4 other builds in mind besides the one i currently main (Reave/Dual Strike Claw Shadow) but i'd love to finish the challenges in the 1 month league and dying from not knowing that kind of stuff sets me back :<. At least i'm almost done with one part (30/40 encounters). Want to work on the quest one too.
Your explaination would make sense because i ran into the Loremaster guy in mud flats and completed his quest no problem, yet i tried to do another quest from my hideout and died instantly lol, my Masters are all around level 3. Any which levels it means monsters are in there? I really just thought the difficulty of them was rather dynamic like...in a game that shall not be named.
I think level 3 masters give roughly lvl 30 dailies. The level of the daily increases depending on the master level. You can check by pressing tab and looking at the monster level in the upper left corner during the mission.

Blood Rain isn't straightforward, and that's a problem.
I see it as a virtue, not a problem. Too many games hold your hand through every single problem you might encounter. God forbid you might actually make a mistake that has real consequences :P
Same reason why i dont think they should change or remove that P link mod, it was tactical, not OP and it wasnt that hard to get around, but players dont want to adapt to games, they want games to adapt to them. Yeah, remove blood rain and remove vaal smash and remove merveils second form, also remove pietys 2 forms.
I think they should just remove the /remaining to see how many monsters remain. More people would be much more willing to skip monsters they felt were too difficult/annoying if they had no idea how many monsters remained in an area. Many players are simply too concerned with full clearing maps cause those last 10 monsters may possibly drop a Shav's or Kaom's. I really think removed the /remaining would solve a lot of things. In other ARPG's I've played there is no way to know how many monsters remain in an area and it works very well. Whether there are 5 remaining or 35 remaining, I'll never know so I can just move on and know that at least I was able to clear all the ones I saw or skipped if they were too hard.

Personally, If you dont know how to death with the blood rain, then you really shouldn't be playing HC. Its clear that you're still a new player, and HC really isnt beginner friendly. My suggestion is to restart in the SC league. You'll make much more progress there
Sure, the lab can be hard, but it's pretty easy if you're properly geared, and not terrible at the game.

Well, thats what SC is for, doing everything at least once to know what comes. And then dip into HC knowing the tricks. HC is just a little bit more careful version of SC.

there's a difference, between holding hands and providing actual information, Xav.
during the Blood Rain, a player isn't given an accurate hint what needs to be done.
I even argue the player is given wrong information because that bubble on Dominus just looks like a bigger version of Undying bubbles.
at least there should be a different color to it or something, so the player can go "hmm never saw that before. I wonder what happens if I stand there".
right now, it says "this protects Dominus from projectiles shot from outside", instead of "saying" what it needs to.
to put that in simple words: a fair game mechanic gives real time "you are making a mistake" feedback to the player. the player can ignore/miss it, and suffer the consequences.
an unfair game mechanic kills the player first, and only then goes "you made a mistake".
That's just wrong. Undying bubble means you have to enter the bubble to kill the mob. You learn this mechanic right before you fight Dominus. It's a big enough hint that the bubble spawns exactly when the rain starts and ends when the rain ends. What you're asking for is the hand holding I mentioned in my previous post :) The rain is a totally fair mechanic.
GGG banning all political discussion shortly after getting acquired by China is a weird coincidence.

Thats not even how i saw it yet, good thinking. The mobs below dominus already got bubbles to enter so there is a tutorial in what to do in a sense.

Hi, GrieverZ.
Dominus is one of the parts of PoE that I feel you must die in order to figure out how to better prepare the next time. It's a credit to your smart play that you managed to get all the way up there on your first character, as there are many other things that could have gotten you earlier.
Kudos on getting right back after it. That's the mark of a true warrior and Wraeclastian.
Safe journey, exile!
