i have long term experience with roller blades & ice skates, and let me tell you, they have absolutely nothing in common. they are not even similar.

stopped doing the ice skates and started doing the icehockey with rollerblades thing,
less bumping butts on ice and more airborne asphaltkissing injuries. We used normal hazelnut-sticks and a bundle of tesakrepp as ball, both classifyable as weaponry, hockey is just more fun without rules, telling ya.

Grew up playing street hockey on the old style skates. Tried ice skating when I moved north, but fuck that cold shit.

yea i gotta say ice hockey is superior to street hockey (imo) but they are both awesome.

Did competitive level speed skating when I was a kid until I got old enough for people to make fun of my lycra catsuit, kinda of regret giving it up tbh. Only skating I do these days is on a skateboard.
