Best character type for endgame

Of all the 98-100 lvl players out there, is there a preponderence of Muraders, or Dualists, or Witches, etc?

I recognize that any character type,properly built, may be competitive in endgame, but:

based on what high lvl players are out there now, what is the most common high lvl build?

pretty sure that the upper part of skilltree classes are predominant end game, ie templar, witch and shadow.

Varies hugely depending on the league/time.

A lot of the 100s from previous leagues will have different builds than they do now.

In Bloodlines at least, FB is king.

I did a quick check and analysis of the Standard Ladder:

There are 438 characters level 98 or higher.

111 (25.3%) are Witches (over represented by 11.1%)
87 (19.9%) are Scions (over represented by 5.6%)
73 (16.7%) are Rangers (over represented by 2.4%)
60 (13.7%) are Marauders (under represented by 3.0%)
56 (12.8%) are Shadows (under represented by 0.6%)
29 (6.6%) are Duelists (under represented by 7.7%)
22 (5.0%) are Templars (under represented by 9.3%)

As you can see here, over half (271/438, 61.9%) of these characters are female (Witch, Scion, or Ranger). All of the male classes are under represented.

Anyways, this distribution reflects to me the predominance of:
1) Lowlife builds in general (CoC, ST, Mjolner) - Witch and Scion are best for these
2) Crit TS or SA builds w/ Puncture, probably with Drillneck - Rangers are best for these

Pretty much what I expected.

Debatable what you're concluding, most of those builds didn't exist by the time half of the players were 100.

That's true to some extent, but there's also the case of what a lot of those characters are doing now.

I know quite a few people with high level characters (from my guild), and almost all of them (with a few exceptions) are Witches or Scions playing a LL ST or CoC build.

I'll do analysis of the current temp leagues after lunch :D

29 characters of level 98 or higher:

10 (34.5%) are Witches (over represented by 20.2%)
9 (31.0%) are Templars (over represented by 16.7%)
5 (17.2%) are Shadows (over represented by 3.0%)
3 (10.3%) are Scions (under represented by 3.9%)
1 (3.4%) is a Marauder (under represented by 10.8%)
1 (3.4%) is a Ranger (under represented by 10.8%)
0 (0%) are Duelists (under represented by 14.3%)

Bloodlines Stats:
14 characters of level 98 or higher (7 alive, 7 dead)
6 Witches, 5 Templars, 1 Marauder, 1 Shadow, 1 Ranger total
4 Witches, 2 Templars, 1 Marauder alive
3 Templars, 2 Witches, 1 Shadow, 1 Ranger dead

There's not really enough data to make much of a statement for HC except that Templar and Witch are the most common at this level and no duelist has made it to 98.

For the SC league, we can see that INT based classes form over 80% of the high level characters.
I can't say builds 100% for sure, but I would guess Flameblast (Templars) and Wanders (KB and/or CoC, Witches) are fairly prevalent.

I'll tell ya for a fact they all play gayblast.

This is great and interesting info. Can someone enlighten me as to the meaning of 'LL ST or CoC' or 'Mjolner', or 'TS or SA' buildes?

I guess 'LL' is 'Low Life' but I do not know the others...
