When taking a portal

Do we travel at light speed are we teleporting or are we taking a wormhole?

Also if we are teleporting, does it mean we are destroying our own character and recreate a perfect clone of it somewhere else? does it mean every HC players are actually dying each time they take a tp?

I need to know.

No wormhole. Just simple bending space and time. That's all.

Side note: dude its a freakin portal, how they function internally is magics. Special super neat magic..

Consider that not one atom that is part of your body now will (on average) be a part of it in ten years - does the 10 years vs 1 second timing really matter? Regardless, a perfect clone of 'you' would be just as much 'you' as 'you' are - the atoms are not important, only the information is. The information is what is you, not the matter itself.

Therefore, HC players cannot die from teleporting, regardless of how it is done... but to be honest with you, I believe the teleportation involves Twinkies.

In fact, I think we can definitely argue that the game of PoE is *superior* to the game of life because it has portals. Don't pretend you haven't been stuck in traffic at some point in your playthrough of 'life' wishing the devs would get with the times and implement some portals. We've ALL been there.

This is correct, if we are living in a simulated universe, then POE is a game inside a game!

Also it is possible that lighting warp is a lesser version of portal, some sort of failed experiment.

What if the portals are alternate reality in POE. Maybe each time you open a portal , you open a door to a world with different rng.

That is maybe why there is rng in POE, maybe each portals are changing the world rules.
