Corrupted Stone of Lazhwar w/ Fire/Cold Leech Questions

Hi everyone,

Been testing and it's just too hard to guage all these factors involved. So basically I just wanna know this:

For a marauder running both Herald of Ash and Hatred, which leech is better? Fire or cold leech.

1) Melee Splash and Herald of Ash have some very very serious synergies for exploding enemies and bursting nearby ones into overkill burning....however I'd heard strong debate as to when fire leech stops being affected.
...............basically some said fire leech will leech only from the enemies that explode and not the ones that burn for overkill damage. This makes sense. Others said only the fire leech would take from the "gained" fire damage from the physical damage I have. This seems like it makes sense also.

So, does fire leech on the Stone of Lazhwar amulet benefit from both the fire damage as well as the exploding enemies? Or not?

Secondly, some peopel said that Hatred does a lot more damage and might be more consistent leech in a longer fight. This seems like a good strategy as well. Atziri and Dominus are not going to be very good to leech from fire damage and certainly will not explode ahha. This would make the much greater damage of Hatred a better leech against a strong boss I assume.

I am going to assume you utilize the melee skill that explodes corpses after kill? (forgot its name.)

In that case fire leach is your best option.

Overkill is a degen,"burn", and as such is not an "on hit" effect and thus has no leach mechanic attached to it.

Your skill converts physical to fire and you use HoA, which would lead me to believe you have more overall fire damage then you have cold as well ass the secondary explosions that also count as "on hit" effects.
(since you can get "reflect damage" from those explosions i am assuming it's an on hit secondary effect with you as the source of that hit)

hey, well I thought so for the leech on burn, but I assumed the explosion was bonus leech which seems to show why I am leaning toward fire as my leech of preference. Honestly both suck but people go nuts for that 1% edge.

Hatred does much more "DPS" damage per hit, for me it says about 9k DPS of my 70k for dual strike. But Herald of Ash's overkill burn damage is immense so the leech does seem to be better but only in huge groups. Otherwise the fire leech is unnoticeable on or off.

Against a boss like Atziri I was thinking that Hatred would be smart since she will not explode or burn or anything, so the 6k higher DPS will be more reliable leech....but still with Vaal Pact you're talking almost nothing.

However, I do attack 10.6x per second, hence my focus on leech. I am going to attempt taking out melee splash against Atziri and using a 20-20 Life Gain on Hit for some seriously high life per hit to see if that makes this entire post moot. Wish me luck and I will check back for your response in a few hours!

can help with the leech, I dont know a lot about the exploding corpses and its affect on hoa, this guy has an explanation which i havent watched but might be useful to you. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MG_SDi-2faI you also have the avatar of fire passive but without pyre you would only get 1/2 the dmg from hatred.

thanks man! Either way, with Vaal Pact we're talking trying to "see" 0.4% leech in action on only 3k damage fire/cold damage, assuming I even get that much with res (and Atziri's is 75%)......I dont think it's going to make any difference in any life or death fight. BANANA!
