3 Month Leagues are actually 2 Month Leagues Ughh

All leagues are 1 month leagues. Anyone who can sustain interest for longer than 2 weeks is quite the trooper. A one year cycle like Diablo 2 will result in 1/12th of the year being active.

League content is anemic to begin with. A gimmick and chase uniques they'll take away from us later like Daresso's Salute.

Man I wish Daresso's Salute was in the normal drop table.

3 months is too long. After 1-1.5 months most ppl jump to another game and POE starts 'dying'. After 2 months guilds r empty. In 2 months, without GG drops, playing every day ~4h daily, u can easy level 2 chars to lvl 90. Without GG drops, without opening trade chat, only bumping procurement once per day, u can easy collect 20+ exalts plus value of ur finished lvl 90 char plus 50-60 lvl 75-76 maps. Why only 20+ ex? Because at that point 20 and 2020 ex is same thing. Ur build is done.

yes leagues are too short. theyre not gonna change it though.

No, they r too long. 1.5 month is perfect because league ends when u r lvl 90 (average). In 3 months u r 92-94, in 6 be lucky to be 96 if u ended 94 in 3 months. U get 2-4 passives for 1.5 months playing. Not worth.

i agree, if temp league would last 2 months, most people would stop playing after 30-40 days

No, u r wrong. Ppl stop playing because bad RNG mechanics and because bad leveling mechanics after lvl 90. Some of them start new char after that and some of them r bored to do that. In any case ~ lvl 90 is point when game starts to be boring. Add terrible RNG mechanics to that and whats why ppl quit. U can reach level 80 without running single map. U get some drops, ur gear u using, currency, lot of chaos from domi runs and u level gems. Sell all that, buy gear for new chat and get lvl 90 in 20 days. Ppl stop playing after 30-40 days because they reach their max with 1 char in that time. Time will be same if league lasts 1 year ...

You obviously miss the whole point of the fact it doesn't matter how long the leagues are, the last month will always be a ghost town.

We're talking about the fact of the majority of players aren't playing 10+ hours a day and people need time to gather gear in other options rather than grinding Dom or Maps. Some people want to play the new leagues because of the newest content but not be forced to put in crazy hours to compete with the tops.

No matter how long the leagues are, the last month wil ALWAYS be dead unless they give some sort of incentive to keep playing.

Why do you need to compete with the tops? No matter what league it is, those who put more time in will generally get more than those who spend less.

Honestly, Diablo 3 sounds like it'd be a better game for you to be playing from these complaints. And no, that's not an insult, Diablo 3 is an awesome game - Path of Exile and Diablo 3 are born of the same animal, but raised differently.

The last month of a league will ALWAYS be dead, despite incentive. Why? Because everything is moved to Standard, and for most people, that's pretty much a wipe for them. So they take a break, refresh themselves with a new game, get ready for the next ladder season.

Playing a game for 2 months then taking a break isn't a bad thing, you know.

Yeah, reminds me of D2 and how the ladders got shortened to please the jsp crowd...

though in this case, since PoE Is free to play, I can kinda understand why they want to introduce new content every once in a while, they need to keep the game fresh for people to be interested, for them to get money.

Actually this also reminds me of reading about an old race season that had way more races than the more recent ones, and no-lifers top racers cried that they couldnt do all, so they got reduced. (oh no what a tragedy that you couldnt get 1k points in 3 different accounts, thanks a lot dickheads)
Oblivious
Actually this is one of the reasons why I prefer normal HC over those beta-leagues a.k.a "challenge" leagues.
everytime those HC ones were unbalanced as hell and most of the time pretty annoying like those damn bloodline mods...

So why playing those temp leagues if HC offers a pretty stable economy and a nice community without things like that annoying perma-chat spam...

That person is right. Proper league time would be 1.5 - 2 months.

Lol, then leagues would be empty in 2 weeks to a month.

Is it so? Then explain why "the majority of players" is through and done so fast, to leave after around 6 weeks... ^^

...or, is it maybe just a 'shifted' perception? May it be, that these casual players (even in your friendlist) not always match your online time? That 'some' of them have a day off, or even a whole weekend, for other needs and purposes then gaming - and thats nothing wrong with this?

I know some people play PoE hardcore but considering 1-6 hours a day casual? What?
