Doomsower Alternate Art

Hey all,

after doing a hammer concept art for Sexcalibur I discovered i enjoyed it so much i deicided to do more art for PoE items, existing and new.

This alternate art goes out to my mate VictorDoom for his awesome Unique the Doomsower.

And here is my take on the sword!

I can hear VD fapping in the distance.

Looks solid, love the expression on the face :D. I always mentioned to VD the sword should be 1/3 visually longer then all other 2-hand swords in-game. That alone would make it a lovely weapon to utilize (fun factor) let alone it's stats.

And this art would be pretty solid to go with it as an alt art. I think VD actually wanted it to be a clean no shit visual appearance. Raw steel sort of thing.

Really like sword, it's nice that swords got a unique on par with koams. Now we just need GGG to make 2h swords on par with axes. Not sure why 2h swords are penalized over axes and foils for cyclone, and the onslaught axe node blows the bleed for swords out of the water :|.

Yeah, i did it when i got home from work today. Also did the concepts for the stuff we talked about yestrday ;)

I hope GGG like's it and deicide's to take it as a race reward aswell.

I sure hope they do, im going to suggest them to use this if it comes up, i think doomsower might be later on though as a race rewards since its a fresh unique

Yeah I taught about a grip, I even did a version with one, but I deicided against it since after talking with VictorDoom I learned the original idea was for it to be an ancient craft and I taught having only "cold steel" would fit the theme of it withstanding the teeth of time.

Anyway I have a Wacom Cintiq 22HD and do all my work in Photoshop. Regarding the technique, since I have a traditional art education (uni and masters), I just paint like I would with a brush.

Gonna be honest here, if this one would somehow make it to the dev's and they introduce this as a race alt art reward ---->



I adore melee characters, and nothing beats bashing shit up with a 2-hander, this art would only enhance that feel.
