hahaha
I still prefer life under that rock you just crawled out from ;)
Reddit is probably the worst forums type thing I've ever saw.
I still don't get how people manage to track their threads and post and shit.
Nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent.
Stay away from it at all costs!
Hi, GingerBeast :)

Reddit is a forum systems mostly organized by private accounts. Please beware of the possible consequences. I recommend you to approach with caution.
I also recommend that you move from under the rock, as it would otherwise cause depressive symptoms and higher risk of cancer due to radioactive exposure. Please refer to a doctor if you experience any symptoms.
Thanks for the input.

Regards,
Silarkar
I like many kinds of games 😊

Reddit is better than official forums. Even Chris agrees with that and prefers reddit's system over official forums.

In reddit, you don't have mods that hunt you down.

In reddit, if you insult/swear or do anything that would usually get you put on probation, it will simply be ignored or downvoted and hidden.

In reddit, you can have a real discussion.

In reddit, good posts will rise to the top while bad posts will sink like a rock.

Official forums have fail forum rules which enforce no witch hunting, protecting scammers and the likes of those. Reddit will name and shame them to protect the community.

The first page of general discussion is plagued by whoever comments last. The front page of reddit is ranked from the most popular post where it is refreshed through decay.

I'm noticing a lot of bias here on the official forums, which is obvious considering where we are. If you want a real discussion, reddit is the place. If you want only quality content, reddit is the place. The official forums are horrible imo. One of the worst forums i've encountered.

If you don't have the time to sort through all the junk to find meaningful posts and discussion, then you should check out reddit.

GGG members who have reddit accounts can reply directly to comments regarding certain topics, and discussions can often follow with the most sided questions being shown at the top and trolls being hidden.

Nevertheless, reddit isn't a perfect place. The PoE subreddit has a lot of people who dislike pretty much everything and will downvote and hate for no reason.

The truth is far from this.

Most of the posts on the main page will be 'hey I found this item". Quality content will usually get ignored and remain in shadow of look-at-my-rng posts.

Also, any posts expressing unpopular opinion will get downvoted, making reddit very undemocratic, where those in minority have no chance to express their thoughs and feeling.

Plus it's a feel good place and legit feedback that is seen as negative will often get downvoted.

I will admit that you can see GGG posts more easily and it's obviously a medium that CHris prefers more. But I would say you will find more in-depth analysis of the game and it's flaws on the forum, rather then on reddit. Plus, they seem to be, for some strange reason, obsessed by trying to degrate official supporters as someone who just supported for his own ego. Which is far, far from the truth. I feel many of them will never understand or come to appreciate what it meant supporting in CB.
„I don't give a fuck if it was his tenth anniversary with his goddamn neckbeard...“
„If they think I'm going to let them sweep this pizza guy thing under the rug...“
No mod action. Business as usual.

Do not use Reddit. That place is a joke, seriously.

That's a link to my most recent comment-and last. And yeah, maybe one comment might have been dickish, but i wasn't trying to be sarcastic, mean or anything. Just suggesting a way to make currency, and you get downvoted.

So just do yourself a favor, don't get involved there. If anything, just read the comments, don't actually comment yourself. But be prepared for a lot of "Look what i found!" posts, That's basically the majority of the posts there.

What "real discussion" comes out of low-moderated, populist echo chambering?

Everyone knows that if your post takes more than half a second to glance over, it's not going to get as many upvotes (and thus visibility) as a picture of some RNG drop or some bellyaching about a desync (or otherwise uncontrollable) death.

Reddit is great for getting low effort feelings from the community at large. Polls are best placed on reddit, for example.

The forums are great for getting actual discussion (note: if they're moderated correctly). Threads can go a week without a bump and both be visible, findable, and nobody bitches when you have something new to add to the discussion. It's a much better format for complex issues (i.e. "real discussion").

Chris enjoys reddit's system because he wants to be able to make non-binding posts. Even he is aware that anything he posts here is "official" and is actually taken seriously, unlike over on reddit.

---

I don't have a clue what you mean by being hunted by mods.

It probably has something to do with the fact that I don't attack other people and further expect my actions to go unmoderated.

While I find hard to believe that purchasing supporter packs is just about ego, choosing to display your titles is entirely about ego. Noone else gains anything by a person choosing to display their titles rather than keeping them hidden.

That said, humans are mixture of non-egoism and egoism. One ought to appreciate both sides of oneself.
