This is why POE = D3

I keep coming back to PoE and play the shit out of it for a couple of weeks every 2-3 months. I can't be bothered to even install D3 at this point. That's the difference for me :)

Much more depth to this game. D3 is mostly gambling for set items and then increasing mainstat on said items.

Nice to play when feeling lazy, but terrible community and bubblegum graphics are a downer.
I had fun with D3 when it came out, for about 2 weeks. Then I got bored since I felt I had done all I wanted to do. I've been around here for 2 years now and I don't see me going anywhere for long without coming back.

The difference is simple enough there are a sufficient amount of possibilities that actually benefits from some theorycrafting. That's my main drive and Grim Dawn is in my opinion the only thing currently out that's even comparable.
I started playing D3 when it was released.
Then switched to PoE.
Last fall went back to D3 with loot 2.0
Then started playing poe again in december and in my opinion PoE > D3

Event if endgame is similar and you are basically doing the same thing
I find that there is way more depth into PoE which mean that in D3 if you want to do x build ,
the item needs to drop if it doesnt you are just screwed and continue to play until it drop and its the only thing you can do...

Meanwhile in PoE , while your waiting for the next good item to drop you can :
-improve you gear and link
-improve your gem quality
-trade for stuff if its does not drop
-min-max you skill tree
-level your master
-improve your hideout

I got bored with D3 in 2 weeks with loot 2.0
Still not bored of PoE after 2 years that say it so.

That's a shiny package right there. If I were to judge arpgs based on looks I would be excited about this. Unfortunately once you have some basic experience when it comes to marketing you can see the flaws.I didn't see skills, builds, crafting or itemization in the trailer. That doesn't mean they will not exist in the game of course but it does mean that these are not the center of attention. A game that emphasizing graphics and raid battles with tones of explosions and huge bosses will never be able to compete with POE on a pure Arpg level. It could be an excellent MMO but comparing it with POE is just naive

This Lineage game seems to be quite different, it isnt even the same genre per se, if it really is totally open world MMO. Then you can compare it like this: Lineage = WoW, and let me tell you, it too will ahve its flaws, no matter the hype. And i stand by it in terms of the basics of course: POE = D3, the similarities are there and cant be denied.

I just wanted to hammer it into people that you dont have to not play one game only or trash talk another game while praising the one youre playing.

Because in the end, all they are is this: games. Plain and simple. Distract yourself with it from real life, but dont lose yourself in it too much.
