With either tree (especially Scion start) feel free to take the resist nodes near scion start if you need. Only grab vaal pact if you have doryani's belt or fire/cold leech craft on weapon from catarina.

Use a dagger with 1.9+ aps and 8%+ crit chance. Tabula is fine but a life/res 5link or 6link is better. For gems I recommend using ST + CoC + LMP/GMP + Fireball + Arctic Breath + Arc or Ice Spear. Arc is good in groups to shock. Ice spear freezes everything. Your call. The new Ungil's Harmony amulet is great while levelling if your crit chance is below 50%. Im lvl 70 in bloodlines with a CoC and my crit chance without power charges charges/curse is 60%. I curse assassin's mark on small packs/single target. In packs it doesnt matter because one spectral throw wrecks everything anyway.

I swap PCOC in for my 3rd spell in parties to reduce lag and so I dont need to fight with others' curses to maintain power charges.
