can you block without a shield or dual-wielding, only with Rearguard for exemple ?
(obviously asking for a Facebreaker build)

The only sources of block I know of:

1. Shield

2. Dual wielding

3. Two-handers that have block chance

4. Unique items (Anvil gives 10%* chance to block, which doesn't require anything. It's block chance that applies globally)

*I think it was nerfed. Not sure.

You can use a shield with facebreakers and there's no point of not doing so.

Using Rearguard would give you a little more DPS and that's about it.

Especially now that you can craft flat damage on it there's no point in using rearguard. On a shield you can also have extra life, higher defenses, resists, higher block with ability to scale it through shield block nodes, and most importantly - three extra sockets.

also dont forget about new shield passives that contain lot of %melee phys increases. FB with shield recieved serious buff in 1.3
