Gem Words

Gem Words is something like the Rune Words, but they actually add properties to the item, instead completely replace them.

They are created by using gems which have links between them.

For instance :

Gem Word : False God :

- Blood magic + Power Charge on critical + Mana Reduction + Life Leech + Fireball
+0.3% per gem level Mana Leech
+100 Fire Damage
+50 Mana
+50 Life


Gem Word : Blood Fury
- Whirlwind + Life Leech + Mana Leech + Life Gain on Hit
+0.1% per character level Increased Life
+180 Physical Damage
+25 Strength
-30 Intelligence
Level 12 Stun

Gen Word : Lighting Prayer
- Arc + Mana Leech + Fork
+5 Lighting Damage per Arc Gem Level
+40 Mana
+20 Intelligence
Level 8 Life Leech

and so on and on.

This would end up like runewords, totally breaking the game. Besides, if it doesnt make use of the most broken build someone can come up with no one will use it, and if its OP it will be mandatory.
Actually Rune Words were the things which turns Diablo 2 into a something.
And No - it can not make it OP, since the dissbalance could be added in many ways, but it will add a hell lot of new "Think before act", especially if the Skills Tree works on the Gem Words aswell.

Just think how much orbs it will consume untill you got the right order of color of the sockets before the Gem Word can took a place. It's a whole new redo of the game for the End Game.

Runewords with auras and teleport were making D2 any better, really? Stuff the merc full of auras and see the magic happen, yeah, was fun. Or teleport assassins and such, cool. Its dangerous to implement something thats a hit or miss kind of thing.
Many liked the runewords in Diablo 2, some hated them and played Classic.
Both have their reasons, I suppose.
However this system won't work in PoE. Gems don't modify items but grant skills and modify them.
They have a completely different use.
Sometime it is good if you read carefully on the thread post before reply. ;)
