Mouse problems

When i play the game occasionally i get massive mouse lag, my laptop touchpad however will not lag, there are no frame or latency lag issues but the mouse seems to stutter across the screen. This happens once every 5 minutes or so, I've checked online and there are some threads on other forums citing dpi scaling issues for windows 8.1 ive tried the miscrosoft recommended solutions but nothing seems to work.
