Dual wielding wand + traps

Hey all,

Anyone knows how trap support gem works with skills like power syphon/kinetic blast when dual wielding wands ?

Does it alternate wands at each trap or does it only use the main hand ?

Does it matter? Only reason to dual wield wands is the more attack speed modifier, here the bonus is useless since you are using traps. Use a shield.

Yeah I know, there's no obvious reason to do that but I'd still like to know how it works.
If you want the details ,I have a +3 level wand that I'd like to use as off-hand to support some skills but I wouldn't want to actually use it to attack.
Not sure if that idea can lead to anything good, but I'd like to at least know if it would work.
