Please play with Wine

Dear Devs,

If one of you would please try playing with Wine, you would feel my pain. I love this game, and it is a testament to how addictive PoE is that even though I run it on Wine I still love to play.

I have a fairly new computer, but Wine causes the whole system to run slower than molasses on tar. Other community members who use Wine can attest to this.

GGG is a very small company. "Group" would be a better word to use due to their size. So them completely re-writing their game to work on a small fraction of the possible population is not very high on their agenda, I'd guess.

Seeing that they're a small company and that it might not be high on their agenda, it could take years to do, if they ever get around to it.

I think GGG is interested in understanding the full community experience. Whether or not they can do something to address [Specific Issue] is important, but it's also good for data on User experience never to be ignored.

They have already said the would look into it...this was over a year ago, either it fairly difficult to do OR there isn't enough of the player base using wine.
If it gets added it'll probably be in on of the act patches but tbh i wouldn't expect it anytime soon given how big their workload is with just windows

I suppose they cannot do much to improve wine support.
On Linux there is PlayonLinux, which makes it easier to manage the working wine versions for programs, I don't know if OSX has something similar.

PoE even runs bad in general, using wine to play it won't be a good experience. You cannot expect it to work as good as in windows, Wine does cut a big part of the performance, this has nothing to do with GGG.

I'm afraid you will have to Dualboot to enjoy "full" performance (which isn't good either, but way better). Dualbooting is still necessary for serious gaming and if you want to play any modern game only available for Windows, you will have to.
