HoT and Three Dragons

Will the damage added to spells by HoT be enough to freeze monsters?

I don't have a character to test but I want a shocking/freezing character who uses Freezing Pulse and the pyre/three dragons uniques.

Basically, I'd have HoI and HoT and then:

Convert all cold to fire.
Have fire shock to trigger HoT.
Have the added dmg from HoT freeze to trigger the AoE.

I know that I could just run a regular Freezing Pulse with HoT for the same effect but I'd rather have more shocks then more freezes.

Thoughts?

Freeze duration is based on how much damage you do relative to the monster's max life. I doubt you'll have enough damage to meet the minimum duration to freeze on high life monsters if HoT is your only source of Lightning damage.

I guess that the shatterbolt video proves it's possible :)

in general, the problem with freezing with low damage is that you possibly freeze weak monsters you dont need to be frozen (trash mobs) and dont freeze dangerous ones you need to be frozen (magic, rare, unique monsters)
