Ping Issue's

Hi Lyeesia,

I'm sorry to hear about your connection. I've moved your thread to tech and account support so that you can get some more specific responses. Please feel free to email support@grindingggear.com if you'd like some more direct assistance.

Regardless, we'll need to know a bit about your connection in order to make any recommendations. Could you please let us know:

- Is your connection wired or wireless?
- Do you share it with anyone else, and do you have any other programs running that may be using your bandwidth?
- Do these issues persist when connecting to a different gateway?
- Could you please confirm for us that your firewall and antivirus are not interfering with Path of Exile's connection? You should be able to test this by temporarily disabling them while playing and seeing if your connection improves.

This information should help us narrow down the cause of the issue, though we may need some more specific data later to really pinpoint it.

Wireless connections are based on your wifi card/driver performance and their compatibility with your modem/router. There could be external interference with your connection and using a wired connection can help alleviate these issues as possible causes. We recommend using a wired connection to your modem/router while we diagnose this.

You are welcome to check your connection using a different gateway. Note that this may increase your average ping, however it may help with these spikes you are experiencing.

Alternatively, feel free to run a WinMTR or PingPlotter trace to your desired gateway. Let this trace run for 300 packets sent while you experience your ping flatlines or your latency spikes as this can capture the cause of these issues.
