They are not casting it when you attack or get close. They attack as soon as you are in their Frozen Sky range, which is frequently off screen and through walls.

Even with totems drawing some of the casts, I still have been taking a few individual hits. If I played melee or even a caster without totems or minions, I'd not enter any 60+ areas until this is fixed. As is, I don't do maps. Inched my way to Piety and the Library, then went back to act2 to farm currency and level gems.

Part of the damage is physical.
GGG's just encouraging us all to get the 1000 point race reward so that the physical portion and cold portion are both possible to ignore.

This game is an illusion, player.
Just died instantly to them in a 66 map. Cleared the first pack of whites then 1 leap slam to the left and i'm dead. There was nothing i could do. I'm usually fast on the potion and escape buttons, but this time i had no chance. I really hope they will get nerfed in damage somehow, since this seems totally overpowered.
Yesterday, offscreen insta rip.
I'm 30 sec in 66 map, killing a few mobs -BAM- im dead. Not even time to use a single pot.
So be carefull :)

you get the frozen sky even when those mobs aren't on your screen.
It also seems to go through walls. I got hit by the rain in Crypt (second floor that is L60) from a group that was in a room with the door face nowhere in my direction. The totems got some of the rain, so I only ate one or two of the rains, but yes, Frozen Sky's range is definitely farther than the character's viewing range.

It's a bit hard to test because it's so deadly. :)

They probably tested the affix as a single 1v1 and didn't even consider the fact that the whole pack would cast it at once because they all get aggro'd at roughly the same time, nor did they test it on things that pop up like burrowed enemies.

The interesting question is what they're going to do to fix it. They can't leave it like it is for the whole league. Even Storm Herald and Ossecati were less rippy than this shit.


I dont want to sound mean, but isn't it your job as Alpha Member to test out those things and give feedback to GGG?

Sure, I don't know how much you get to test or what they change, but things like that should be easily testable by Alphas and reported be4 they go live.
