Celestial Judgement - 2% reduction? Seems rubbish!

Celestial Judgement

18% Increased Elemental Damage
Damage Penetrates 2% Fire Resistance
Damage Penetrates 2% Cold Resistance
Damage Penetrates 2% Lightning Resistance

Can anyone explain to me why this node is worth taking?

Just for context: I use a physical attack gem (Lightning Strike) and so Increased Elemental Damage is a sub-par investment for me.

However when I look at the 2% resistance penetration, I can't help but wonder at the numbers... 2%? This seems like a tiny reduction...

If someone could explain to me how this part of the node (the 2% res reduction) isn't very poor, I'd be very grateful, because I feel like I'm missing something!

It's for pure elemental builds.

Elemental Wander, casters, etc.

lightning strike + phyisical to lightning (new support gem) and that node becomes instantly very good for your build :)

Except you shoot yourself in the foot doing that (need leech gem, can't leech mana).

Also, why do you assume you should take this note if you use a physical attack? Why would a caster take a bow node?

Not every node is for every build, I don't really understand your problem...

Is there a problem with the threads I've made? I don't understand why you say this, I have the right to create a thread on a point of discussion if I want. If you have a problem with my threads, please report them so that moderators can deal with them.

As for the assumption that I should take this node, that was poorly worded on my part, I merely wished to clarify that since I was using a melee attack gem, purely elemental damage nodes are not optimal for me. That in itself was not my criticism of the node. I will reword the original post to reflect this.

My actual point of discussion was around the 2% resistance reduction. I don't understand why this would be valuable to any build that deals elemental damage, because it seems so small.

You need to understand that penetrating 2% doesn't result in an increase of 2%... closer to 10%.

2% penetration is a nice bonus to 18% elemental damage that this node also grants which altogether makes this node quite good, for elemental users, don't you think? Esp. if you might use multiple elements in your main attack (not sure on viable build).

But 18% + at least 2% penetration is - as other already mentioned - pretty nice for a single node.

They are all duplicates. Attempting to create the thread resulted in an error. The reason the last one has a different timestamp is because I had no idea the threads had actually been created, because all I was given was an error message. So I came back later after having a sandwich to try to create the thread again. Briefly looking around the forum I can see that I was not the only one to experience this error - there's multiple duplicate posts all around the forums.

No harm done, just a misunderstanding.

I don't see why 2% penetration is useful.
