Updating for 1.3 - Cyclone staff Discharge build

Hi All,

I have been RT since i started playing. I know discharge builds just WRECK, so with the new changes to crit and the new staff trees, I think the fact that i've been staff for so long is finally going to pay off.

I've never been crit before, and I would like to be able to do nice clear speed & at least normal atziri.

This is the tree I came up with (I tried to mimic my 1.2 tree, except add crit in. I was able to somewhat closely maintain my +max life %, and phys dmg %, and tried to take every crit in my path.) I looked at the 'attributes' of the build, and i think i went from +82% max life, to 79% max life, but I am getting +1500 life from tree, vs. my old +582 or something like that, so hopefully that's a huge boost.

I am trying not to spec it without additional input.

I know i need to update my gear - I have no crit in here at all. I need accuracy rating and crit chance most likely.

What is a decent accuracy rating # or % to aim for? And what is a decent crit % for a discharge build?

The new tree provides 10% chance to gain power charge on BLOCK, which was nerfed, lol. How else do we gain power charges? Assassin's mark? I get Endurance charges from cast when dmg taken & frenzy from blood rage.

Completely new to the crit game, need some advise.

I only have ever played RT cyclone staffer & Summoner. Not sure much on the accuracy or crit mechanics, and discharge.

Want to make sure the tree is in line with a discharge build.

in my opinion you cant do discharge with Marauder, there just isnt enough crit nodes to get starting from there. without using volls or that new ring (forgot name) not sure how you are going to consistently get your charges, and without the shadow crit nodes just dont see it working, just my opinion.
I've got 347% from the tree... total details below. I guess that's not too much increase from base of ~6.68%. That's only 23% , not including anything else from items. Is this at all viable discharge crit % amount?

32% increased Critical Strike Chance
130% increased Global Critical Strike Chance while wielding a Staff
135% increased Melee Critical Strike Chance
50% increased Critical Strike Chance with Staves

10% chance to gain a Power Charge when you Block
10% chance to gain an Endurance Charge on Critical Strike


Romira's banquet i guess , I know I need to get power charges some way, that seems like i'll constantly be at full charge with only roughly 25% crit chance. New tree allows for 10% chance to gain on block, but block chance is only like 22% total or so.

Passive skill tree build

I know I can swap a few things around, depending on how accuracy is, and resists w/ current gear. I think i had around 20 from tree w/ old spec, and this allows for 18%. Accuracy I never had to worry about, so i hope i dont have to swap gear for accuracy.

The below allows for more DPS then my previous build, and loses 10% max life from tree. But if i return to RT, and dump all those crit nodes into DMG, i'm likely to be at a huge DPS gain from prior build. But I wanted to see what type of Discharge and if that would be viable.
