Question about Daresso's Defiance and IC

When you get hit and it's over Cast When Damage Taken's threshold, do you lose the endurance charges due to Defiance before or after IC triggers?

a)
get hit
lose endurance charges (Daresso's unique property)
IC triggers

or

b)
get hit
IC triggers
lose endurance charges (none at this point, since they've been spent)

When we have such conflicts, gems have priority. So if the hit triggers IC, it will spend charges before Daresso.
