What if Crit dmg bonus (multiplier) was NOT a multiplier?

I saw this in another game.

Crit dmg bonuses there are 'additive' to other dmg modifiers, ie 'increased' instead of 'more'.

You can still give critcals a base +50% dmg (more multiplier), but any other multiplier bonuses are all added to your usual range/melee/weapon/elemental increase dmg.

Obviously with this change, you would increase the amount of 'crit dmg bonus' available.

It worked for that game. People still aims for a bit of crit, but not heavily focused on it. They have a choice of equip that stack dmg bonuses from a variety of options, of which crit dmg is just one of them.
