What is "good" dps?

All the time ranger is worse at dps/survival, no patch changed that and from what i see they dont want to change that at all...
Thats kinda wierd... it will be fun at pvp playing ranger...real hardcore mode.

Yeah, stop this insanity of just posting DPS numbers out of the blue, it helps no one. If you use a projectile spell, give us the number per projectile ( ie, what's in the character sheet ). Same goes for novas, firestorm etc. If you're doing 90k DPS single target with a massive aoe spell, then that's impressive for sure, but if it's using some arbitrarily chosen number of targets, then not so much.

DPS Poison Arrow: 2000
No Frenzy Charges.

With Mana-Reduction Gem its easy to spam the spells. The poison of poison arrow is very strong and sometimes kills creeps with energyshield without destroying the shield first :)

It seems all rangers got crappy dps;p

level 70 ranger

poison arrow = 3565 dps
armor = 3096

My 2h axe duelist (lvl 58) uses 5 frenzy charges:
Cleave + melee phys dmg + add fire dmg + increased AoE
= 5.3k per hit
= 9.3k dps
Flicker Strike + melee phys dmg + add fire dmg + faster attack
= 6.4k per hit
= 19.8k dps

My wand witch (lvl 72) uses 5 power charges:
Elemental Hit + weapon ele dmg + increased crit + multi projectile
= 2.9k per projectile before factoring crit
= 10.5k per projectile w/ 75% chance to crit for 450%
= 15.8k dps

Discharge build. Probably something like 45k burst with a .5 sec cast time.

Edit: actually, burst dmg could be a lot lower if he uses a diamond flask beforehand.

I don't think it counts if your dps drops to 0 after the first cast.

ranger is not the worst dps class

when i posted 2150 thats my dps in the character (C) screen. a lotta people are cheating and adding all sorts of other damages that i didnt account for. if i account for my elemental hit additional damage my dps is more like 10-20k im sure.

people are posting numbers without any controlled variables these numbers mean nothing really

Yet yours is probably the most meaningless dps number on this thread. Why would you even post char screen dps for Elemental Hit, knowing that Elemental Hit damage doesn't display properly?

I did my own math for my Elemental Hit wand witch to get damage per projectile. Average base damage is ~670 for a lvl 17 Elemental Hit gem, fyi.
