The major Problem in POE in General

Players who benefited from the start of the game when mirrors and other currency were much more common, who own the most expensive legacy items.

dominate the crafting side of poe.

Noone else can afford to craft other then the most rich and wealthy players.

The spirit of an arpg is that everyone should be able to craft decent gear.

However because of the drop rate of eternals and how expensive they are... there are very few who can afford to eternal their items to protect the good rolls they get.

1/1000 alterations will give a really good roll according to what ive heard.

But because of the cost of eternals people have to yolo regal and 99% of the time the item with rip....

please make it so eternals are as common as regals and exalts and regals are more rare.

because an eternal does nothing except allow you to undo one roll on your item...
and crafting will still can require thousands of them.

I can't see how it's a problem in a permanent/legacy league. The only way to counter this (if it's seen as a problem) is through resets. That's why there are challenge leagues. If GGG made some kind of resets in permanent leagues, there would be no permanent leagues in PoE anymore. And they have more to lose by pissing everyone playing permanent league since the beginning, thinking that everything was supposed to remain there.

Forasken Masters make a big middlefinger to that statement. You can craft more than really decent gear with high level masters. For example : a 350 pDPS Harbinger Bow used to cost a leg and an arm. Now you can craft one for betwwen 2-3 ex worth of currency thanks to master crafting. That kind of craft is more than enough to own all the content in PoE. Top-end godlike gear (which was also made easier by masters with the possibility of locking certain mods) should remain hard to achieve.

2 things about this : 1/ Where is your universal definition of what an ARPG is ? Is it really the case that everyone should be able to craft decent gear ? Or is that just your opinion ? 2/ Even if it was the case, PoE is PoE, it's not a generic ARPG that should follow a normative definition of the genre with the differences seen as "flaws". "An ARPG is this, this and this, therefore PoE has that flaw, and that one, and that one,...". Well, no.

Yup.

This is PoE, where what the developers call 'the core game' is not what it's about.

Just another contradiction in design that run through PoE like letters in Blackpool Rock.
Casually casual.

You give some already game breaking shit like Elreon's Multimod to make crafting somewhat accessible to players, then what do you get back? Them wanting more, they actually want eternals now to be as ez :)) oh human nature.
"Get rich or die grinding"

Lvl 100 Ascendant - RadioactiveSago: HIGHEST KB tooltiplordz in all of PoE (view-thread/1636451)
Lvl 100 Assassin - Chonkeyy: Omnislasher 2 mil DPS Flicker Build (view-thread/1571744)

How do you fix people playing for several years longer then the new player being extremely more rich?

You don't because that how it goes in any game ~.~

Also currency and mirrors are not "more common" in beta the way they are now, if anything they are more common with more players + increased drop rates. Inflation comes in and makes stuff more expensive.

Also you can craft gear already with masters that will faceroll most of the game, if your talking about crafting new BIS items then it should be rare and RIP alot of currency to get there.

Mirrors were never more common.

On the legacy "issue" you have a point but then again, you don't need the legacy items for anything.

As some people have said already, masters allow you to craft insane gear for very cheap.

ty- sincerely the guy who just ripped over 10 emperor/flaring bows

Eternals allow perfect items, it should be expensive as fuck. Adding eternals to the game was a bad idea but that is a different discussion...
