Duelist 1h+shield or DW build for pvp?

Is it now even worth making a 1h+shield duelist when DW became so much better and also new changes to passive tree are in the way?

1. You can get a lot of block while dual-wielding. Probably even cap it.
2. You got twin terrors nodes and whole south-east DW cluster nearby while nothing really special for swords.
3. Extra offense while dual-wielding.


So, am I right or there is something I am missing?
Maybe there's specific paths, item setups when going with shield make it superior?

I play DW and I lose to 1h+shield every time because of one simple thing: Tempest Shield.

I have lost to afk players because of it. Block is too powerful and reflected damage is too hard to deal with.

The only counter to the gem is to significantly adjust your build and playstyle to deal with it. Block chance reduction, damage mitigation, evasion and dodge, etc. just to deal with one skill.

Most pve glass cannons don't roll with a shield, especially aegis and capped block.

Depends wether you're lld or on hld. But yea tempest shield is almost always a must have if you decide to wear a shield and a dedicated block build. The rest is really up to you.

Low level dueling and high level one. Really you should just go to sarn arena to find out yourself what build your comfortable with and ask feedback about your progress.
