Can I delete one of my characters off this account?

I am using steam and do not own the client version any more. I would LOVE to have my main account name Zapleaf for steam characters I kill and remake in HC leagues but it is currently trapped on this account that I no longer use, that is only accessible with the client. Is there any way I could delete one of my characters from this account so that I could free up the user name for use with my steam account WITHOUT having to download the client just to delete a character.
