Its nice when someone let's me know they got the joke.
Mostly I just write and except for one person, I get crickets. Now I won't ever let that stop me, but occasionally I write something that I feel is really good. Getting feedback is like a standup comic getting laugh. You know your work paid off. Way of example, having BMBI find that he didn't need milk after all to me was good writing. An entire scene made unnecessary by that little joke, but the scene was there for reason and helped the story along. |

Yeah, I thought about giving each a certain personality, but the joke was good enough without delving into to it too much.
And yeah, I am fairly random when writing fast. When I care to edit, I look for the breaks that don't work or try to explain how a character actions make more sense. I have been a thinking about releasing the first story that I rewrote for profit on the site for a short time to let people see that I actually can pull the story together properly. |
