Buying a new PC
Im planning on buying a PC specifically to play POE.
Now i am Still on a Budget (being a student with no income) i was thinking about this: Motherboard - Intel (MSI H81M-P33) Processor - Intel® Core™ i3 Processor (i3-4150 3.5GHz) G-Card - AMD Radeon R7 260 1GB DDR5 RAM - 8GB DDR3 (1600MHz Kingston HX316C10F/8) Would this run the game with no problems? In party under heavy Effects?
" u better buy core i5 for game. Pant of Exile,Path of Gamer.

an upgrade to a Intel® Core i5-4460 3.2GHz would cost me an extra 80E ... not sure its worth it
when an option is to buy the i3 now and in a year upgrade to a i7 or something thoughts? Last edited by Vepar90 on Nov 16, 2014, 10:09:32 PM

" Yeah PoE will run on that. My old rig which is substantially worse than what you posted (Dual Core 2.5 GHz / 4G RAM running a GeForce 9800GT) runs very similar to my current gaming rig without turning graphics options or resolution down (apart from instance loading times which takes a while) As mentioned, definitely consider getting an i5 if you can get the funds for it, you won't regret it.
Decided to actually go for the i5 ... configuration and in a month or 2 save up the money to get a good SSD
Meanwhile Is the RamDisk thing still a viable replacement for an SSD? And is it good to do it on a 8gb of RAM Leaving 2-2.3 of actual RAM?
Heya Vepar
Definitely viable (under the right circumstances). 8GB RAM is pushing it for a RamDisk to run PoE, could work but anything more than 8GB and you can near guarantee it will be fine. Remember you'll be using more RAM than just the PoE install and running the game - also include your OS and any other background programs running as well. Good Luck :) (EDIT) 8GB is definitely not enough anymore - once ya get more RAM though you'll be humming :) Last edited by Spoton on Nov 17, 2014, 11:05:41 PM

8GB should be enough.
5.7 Reserved (game needs 5.6) 0.5 for Windows7 (ideal) Leaving 1.8 for PoE ... never really seen it go over 1.4 |
