Main build advise

hi all, like the title says just looking for some honest advise on my 1st main build he is lvl55 and is doing ok, i know im only in std league and ive still got a long way to go lvl wise.

Your skilltree is as horrible as it can get.
You are not supposed to pick up each and every node in the skilltree. Make decisions and cut all that isn't 100% required. In your case: 23 points that don't do much cut out, can be invested in something way more impactful. I'd even cut more of that stuff if I were you, and aim for something like this. Better start a new character, this one will not make you happy in merciless. Aim for around 150-200% life and ideally a lot of block in a 100 point build. It's probably best if you start again. But don't think of it as a bad thing. Restarting is encouraged.
You can also try looking for builds similar to what you're going for. It will give you ideas on places to go for in the skill tree, as well as gear and other hints and tips. Use www.poebuilder.com to plan your build (I prefer this tool to many out there). If you do a search for maximum life, and branch out to those nodes, to aim for the 150%+ suggested above, you can work out what to do with the other skill points after. |

Thanks for the replies guys very helpful may wait for the next full reset of skill tree to replan it, but will def try a new char whilst playing around with my other chars

Do not make your own build until you fully comprehend the base mechanics of the game, how damage works, what the defenses are, how certain builds benefit from certain items, what properties you want in items etc.
Make builds other people have made for a few months until you get a grip on the game. Don't be afraid to reroll, your current character is extremely underpowered for lvl 55. |
