Misgivings about Tendrils + Thunder Herald

Thus far, leveling has been relatively smooth in beyond, few tight spots because Tendrils roots you in place, and beyond mobs (and hailrake >.>) hit pretty hard.

However, I just hit my first ele reflect, wasn't to bad. Yet, I noticed a few things when both Tendrils + Thunder Herald are combined:

A) You root yourself in place to deal damage.
B) Enemies hit you while your rooted.
C) Thunder Herald cannot be stopped once triggered.

I can see my death now:

I come to an ele reflect mob, start up my tendrils, half health myself between reflect and monster hits that I can't avoid cuz I'm stuck in place, I stop and start to run away. Thunder herald proc on a few normal mobs and keeps going and gets me killed as I start to run away. (Thunder Herald's bolts do respectable damage in a lightning build btw)

Course, that's assumed something doesn't overwhelm and kill me prior to that while I'm basically point blank with the enemy. Or dom / vaal doesn't start their slams while I start casting, ect...

IDK, felt like dear diary'ing some thoughts I had.
As a witch with the flask nodes you can be easily minimize lighting reflect, certainly enough to survive a reflect rare/pack.

If only there were a way to reduce incomming lightning damage~

But yeah, the reason to why Incinerate is so retarded is because it requires nearly no gearing to become insane, you are immune to reflect because Arctic Armour is broken in every single way of its design.

Lightning Tendril seem to do a crapload of burst damage for so many hits aswell, seems a bit too strong at first glance.

why exactly is it broken in any way at all?
when the only thing that bothers you is insane spike damage from single sources, arctic armour doesnt do all that much anymore.

it's awesome. seems similar to arc in that it doesnt really benefit from most gems but scales very well with levels.

The "rooting" downside for lightning tendrils isn't really a disadvantage. Every spell or attack roots you for however long your indicated "cast time" is. The difference is lightning tendrils spends the entire cast time doing damage rather than causing an effect after the spell is finished.

If anything, you're less vulnerable than some other spells in that you can clear trash instantly.

It's easily #1 racing skill for spellcasters atm though, not sure what you're on about.
