Shield Effects

I like the new Shield Skins, but i think it would be pretty sweet if there were shield effects like there are weapon effects. Having a Shield that was imbued with lets say flames, lightning, or the frost/ice effect that weapons can be would be a cool addition to a character. Anyone else have thought on this?

Tempest shield gives you the lightning effect.

Yea, but thats a skill gem. I'm talking a microtransaction for shield effects.
