You should have seen my hybrid wander back in 1.1 abused the synergy so much that it got nerfed -_- Well, only thing I can say I've done before most people is making Dyadus a viable weapon, even before the BotW. It's nice to see that top-end GG-geared builds DO get nerfed though, thought GGG didn't really mind that much. About "fitting", have you tried making your link shorter?
