What happens when you have 106 resistance?

I am RF user, so normally I have 86 fire resistance. But with resist shrine and ruby flask it goest to 106. I thought it will be 100, but it actually shows 106 in character screen.

So would fire damage heal me in these conditions or what?
It's the same as 100

monsters don't have penetration. but they do have curses sometimes.

What does monsters having or not having penetration have to do with your "resistance to penetration", I wonder?
edit: there was clear mention of penetration, not curses, which is why I asked that question in the first place.

No? The OP stated that he actually had 106% fire resistance. If that's the case he is more resilient to Penetration (as well as curses), because he has 6% "extra" resistance he can loose before he sees any effect.

If his maximum resistance is less than 106% and this is the "behind the cap" value displayed in brackets in the character sheet, then it doesn't do this, but given that he stated that was his actual resistance value, and mentioned specifically things which increase maximum fire resistance, it seems reasonable to conclude that he is indeed talking about actually having 106% fire resistance, which would help against penetration effects.
I used to have 109% with flask (23 purity and all the aura buffs and inner force +9, +8 RoP, +4 oldtree, +13 flask) atziri still took half my health.

Penetration is a bitch. Go max Block/spell Block.

Good thing is once you surpass your flat RF sustain fire pots actually heal you so I never carried health potions.



Fire pot not only healed her up by whatever the witch's health regen sec was it made the character virtually immune to fire. Save penetrating ones.
