not necessarily i play hc because its fun never dying and having a better economy

i just can't usually out-regen the degens

It's pretty common I get hit 3 times in a row by spells with 75/75 block/spell block (this is I rip'd in beyond lately).

He's at 100% fire and lightning resist in that video anyways - it doesn't matter if the spells get blocked or not.

The only one where the spell block shows is vs the double flameblast - when he doesn't block it he drops to about half hp (and then regens it right away), when he blocks it he takes no dmg even from that one.

(double flame blast has fire pen on it so 100% fire res doesn't stop all the dmg)

9k life + full block + ES replenish -- so yeah
Not to mention that the video was made in 1.1.x when max res was much higher.
Also this combination makes you have a max 4L attack skill. So DPS will be very low.

Pretty sure it's not possible (and wasn't with older tree either) to have 100% without Ruby/Topaz flasks. At 2:56 he also takes damage from regular Flameblast and prior to that several times from Stormcalls as well.

You're right. He could get to 94 fire res with no flask though, or 91 wearing Saffel over RotP which would give the bonus to Lighting as well (and help get the spellblock - he'd be wearing Rainbows + Lazhwar for sure already). I don't think he wears Aegis for Uber - makes no sense.

(that res calc is 75, +3 from 1.1 tree, +7 from Purity, +1 from a max res implicit Stone, and then either +8 from RotP or +5 from legacy Saffel. I would assume Saffel as it lets you nab Lightning to 91 as well. lmk if I missed any other sources of easy afk max res. In theory you could go 92 with a +1 max res legacy kaom, not sure if Gellig has one or not - they're out there)


At 91 (or 94) you'd be totally fine vs a regular flameblast - vs the double you'd die if both hit you probably, but the odds of not blocking either of them are fairly slim.
