But remember: you don't have to outrun the dinosaur, you just have to outrun your mates.
That's only true if the dinosaur is merely after you as a snack. If the dinosaur wants you destroyed so it can take your loot and get XP, then outrunning the Cycloner won't save you either.
You might be able to distract the dino with shiny objects - I hear they like mirrors for some reason.
