Very laggy gameplay

Hi, I have been experiencing very laggy gameplay which includes FPS spikes, long loading time and so on. I am currently playing POE on a hard drive (7200 RPM). PLEASE DO NOT ask me to get an SSD. I understand the urge but, no.

I used to not have any problems playing but only recently have I encountered such problems. I have tried using the ggpk defrag tool, defragging my hard drive but all to no avail. In game, my FPS graph is constantly fluctuating. I have already dust the fan filter. Can you recommend me the optimal settings for the Nvidia control panel? Couldn't find your graphics in there I am no pro, and I am very tired today but poe is very bad with multiple cores it basically uses 1 core HARD so that renders your cpu at a woopin 2.4ghz 1core used, this would explain why lowering settings hard affects nothing, and if your like me (8cores also but i overclocked some to 4.1ghz or else game was unplayable) you are having issues with poe even tho your gpu and cpu never go over 30%usage. p.s GGG admitted there being new issues introduced in 1.2 including long load times + fps lag for basically everyone, especially people with a shitload of cores on there cpu, they say they are working on it but nothing talks about it in the next patch so i guess its going to be another patch, cross your fingers, its the only thing you can do rightnow.(that and get people aware of it) hit me up @sarrow lets have fun :D Last edited by Sawm on Sep 27, 2014, 10:03:50 AM

I have almost the same setup as you and I also have insanely low fps, settings dont make a difference. It has become a lot worse since ambush, where I would only have bad fps in groups. Now I often find myself at 1 fps :(

" From what sawm said above, I tried to cap my power option at 40% usage only  and it tremendously improved my FPS and I have little to none lag spikes at all!
