How much ES for LowLife

First off, I'm playing in the beyond-league, so dieing isn't a possibility here.
I'm thinking about creating an Energy-based LowLife character.
Sadly I have no experience with ES whatsoever, as all my previous builds were life-based.

My concern is, that without mitigations / life flasks to regen, I'd need a lot more ES than I had needed life .
My current character is doing ~70maps with 3.5k life + MoM + Lightning Coil quite safely.
How much energy shield would I need?

And the even more pressing question: Is it possible to reach high enough ES-values with Solaris Lorica (Shavronnes is so expensive)?
My current rough estimate only gets to 3.5k-4k ES that way, which I feel is far too low.

Any ideas, and more important experiences, trying it out yourself?

I don't know ES as well, but I'd say a minimum of 7k before it becomes "viable". This is because ES, without low-life, sacrifices armor, evasion, block, and dodge. Life is much easier to use when getting those defenses.

ES has always been about huge numbers, and the 1.2 nerfs practically killed ES. I was thinking about making one pre-1.2, but now I'm not even considering it. But then again, a single six-link is a wet dream for me.

If you could get max block, 5k ES might be acceptable.
How can you reasonably hit 7k ES with Solaris?
My Math

Gear - the high numbers on beyond, that aren't multiple exalts.
200 boots
300 helm
400 shield
40 amulet
60 belt
200 gloves
300 discipline
40 passive tree
-----------
sum of 1540 base.
-> 4158 with 170% increased ES
-> 4398 with 60% increased Def from Shield

So 4.4k is the absolute upper limit I can think of right now, when using Solaris,
in reality it proably will be even less.

So it is not viable?

You can hit 5k es with a lorica with es nodes and good es gear (read: ~350es hubris or something and 400es shield). Gem level on discipline with buff/aura nodes is helpful as well. Obviously you want to work for Shavs but Lorica is an okay placeholder. Don't expect to get away with dual wielding with a Lorica. Your defensive options will be trash, since you will likely be going BM/Mortal Conviction and thus grabbing US since you're right there, so you can't run grace without IR (very passive expensive). You could opt for a Chayula instead, but I'm too used to your generic ES/crit ammy. Lioneye boots also work. I've done a lowlife windripper build, which was able to get around 8.5k EV with Ondar's, but it wasn't enough considering I ripped :^). Your primary way with dealing with ele damage is flasks and auras, which is easy since you hit near 100% res all the time with surgeon flasks. Phys is tricky, since your armor will be bad (and your EV likely as well), so CWDT-IC and granite flasks will be your primary mitigation. Also fucktons of leech helps significantly.

Reasonably hit 7k with Solaris? Get about 400% increased ES with your 1,540 base and you'll hit it.

But with about 200% increased ES, which is what you should be aiming for, you'd need 2,334 ES to break 7k. This would require top notch ES gear, though.

The reason why I say it should be no less than 5k and looking to be at least 7k is because you're going low-life. LL means more points into auras, less into ES, and little to none into defenses like block or dodge. This means fewer effective hit points overall.

Look at a 2.5k life build with max block. That alone multiplies effective hit points to 10k, since 3/4 attacks/spells miss. Add in just the Acrobactics keystones, and that goes up even higher.

Your 4.4k ES build will be lucky to have any worthwhile amount of block, with the vast majority coming from the shield. With roughly 32% block, you go from 4.4k to 5.72k. Not that much better, and definitely not that much of an increase against spells.

8.5k EV with Ondar's, but it wasn't enough

Thanks. Together with the rest of input I received I decided a Solaris build proably is not viable for mapping, so will keep my eyes open for sth. else.

Craft these on your rings and didnt you guys forget about %ES bonus from INT ?

EDIT 1: Also discipline can go up to 450+ with inner force and aura effect nodes.

EDIT 2: Ammy such as this
(27% ES in total with the INT on it) would help too.
