2.3 Fakener (budget fake Mjölner) build - Trickster Version

Why not go for situational RF rather than permanent? If you want to not get 1-shot by atziri's storm calls you would want to run saffel's, level 20 purity of lightning and athleticism+inner force for +1 max res. With life leech and smart potting you should be able to maintain it during tough fights.
I'm going for something similar to your setup but I still need to level the gems (purities especially) before I test it on atziri.

If your rally want to run RF :)
with your 6 linked chest and voll amulet you could as well sacrifice some crit nodes and boost your res with something like this:


5 max res legacy staffel frame
13 from flask
+1 to fire from tree
50% aura/buff effect for 6% max res
=============
Grand total:
100% fire res
99% light res

This build is freaking AWESOME. But unfortunately I've sort of hit a brick wall with my level 63. I do a pretty good amount of damage, but I die almost instantly. Anyone want to help a brother out?

I'm currently about to try this out but if you don't have EE, running HoT with Curse on Hit seems like a great idea.

Edit: Worked pretty well.

Trying out linking HoT with Blind and Chance to Flee.

Anyone have any ideas for a no mana cost strength support gem to link?

Your HP is really low. I would spend the next 6 points getting herbalism and barbarism. Getting a higher level life leech gem will also help a lot, remember vaal pact cuts your LL effectiveness down to 40%. Basically just keep leveling up, and you'll keep getting stronger.

4 socket your gloves and add warlord's mark (more leech and endurance charges)

I don't see how this would make me able to keep RF up all the time like I can now. It'll give me more Lightning Res, but I would need to have Ruby Flask up 100% of the time as I'd lose almost 400 HP every second without it.

Anyways, I did another Atziri run and she was a complete joke. Will probably try uber once I get hope.

I presumed that at your gear level you don't need any offensive boost against trash mobs.
This is why i made a short draft to boost your defense against Uber Atziri.

I thought your first changes were made with the intention of keeping RF running all the time, but it seems I misunderstood.

Anyway, you're right, I can get a lot more damage by only activating RF for tough fights, but when I first made the build it never occured to me I could do that, so that's why I have on it all the time, even though it's not necesarry against trash mobs.
I don't feel like spending any more Regrets than I already have though, so I'll keep it like this until the next free repec. At that time I'll probably change it to something similar to what you suggested.

And while I didn't need to use Saffell's or Purity of Lightning against normal Atziri, I do think I might need to make some gear changes for the uber fight.

How important is %Spell Damage on the dagger? Also, is it okay to have elemental damage (other than lightning) on the dagger?
