We have many ardent Path of Exile fans in South America and we've been working hard on bringing them the full Path of Exile experience. The first stage of this is to offer local payments options for users in Brazil. In conjunction with our partners UOL BoaCompra, we're proud to announce that today we're launching Brazilian payment processing. We'll be offering local payment options for other South American countries in the near future. Our eventual plans for South America include local gateways to our international servers and of course a fully translated game client.

This announcement was made with the Brazil Bundle, offered to introduce the local payments here in Brazil.

Me and my friends have to play the game with constant high latency, never lower than 200, and unfortunately can't have the full experience that the game provides. All the internet services here have the same problem, when packets have to go through Miami. Mine, has 10% packet loss. I've already lost many HC characters due to enormous dsyncs. When I read this annoucements saying that local gateways were in the plans, me and my friends got very excited about it, commenting on the topic until now, often saying how great things would be with a local server.

Well, nothing else was announced since the bundle, so I was wondering if someone at GGG could give me and my fellow south americans any information, news or decision about the future regarding a south american gateway.

Me and my guildies would love to hear any news about the south american gateway as well, most of them have horrible desync, im the lucky one, my ISP dont lose any package and i play @165 MS. You can imagine the rest of them.

The desync gets much worse when you have higher latency and it's one of the main problem in this game that always makes me stop playing after a while (stopped shortly before v1.0, and it's been over a week since I last played v1.2).

Would be nice to see some official news about the Brazilian gateway that was announced months ago.

I hope that server in South America come in this year :)

I used to play softcore when I didn't quite understand the game, but know that I've migrated to HC forever, let me tell you this announcement makes me really happy :) (Argentinian here, from the land of Tango, 'asado de tira', and Diego Armando Maradona).

When it has to go through the hosts of former GBLX, now Level 3 Communications, the signal gains more than 200ms latency. I love this game, but the frustation is building up and eventually I'll stop playing completely.
