Vaal Spark Boss Killer In High Maps

Hey guys,

I am currently using an arc build and have been thinking about incorporating Vaal Spark to kill bosses in high maps. I was thinking about a 5L with: Vaal Spak + GMP + Lightning Pen + Trap + Added Lightning Damage

Have any of you had experience with a Vaal Spark combo in high maps against bosses? Does this skill scale well in the end game with multiple support gems?

Note that my setup would be strictly for single target boss killing, which is why I do not link fork.

You can't use them with triggers. Traps and mines should still be fine.

aren't traps in some way triggers? :')

Triggers are strictly cast when damage taken, cast on melee kill, cast when stunned and cast on critical strike.

Vaal Skill Gems do work with traps. Still wondering if the damage would be significant against bosses in high maps though

Try spell echo in that setup. Should be pretty good. Apparently vaal storm call + echo + duration + conc works well too.

Im actually using that exact setup right now and the damage is a bit underwhelming. Part of it could be because the gems are around level 15-16, but it still just is not where I want it to be. This is why I have been having thoughts about vaal spark.

Also, I don't know how spell echo would work, or if it would work at all if I have it linked to the trap setup. Will the trap cast 2 vaal sparks? Or will I cast 2 traps?

I've seen it used with Vaal Glacial Hammer to great effect. The only pain is charging two vaal skills. Vaal Glacial Hammer encircles the target with frost wall Vaal Spark bounces around inside and the target is dead in no time.

That is a pretty interesting video. I dont really have a problem with charging two vaal skills as I will only use this once per map, on bosses. I do have a couple of concerns though...

1. I don't like the idea of being trapped inside of that frost circle with a hard hitting boss such as Lady Stormflay from Precinct or Trinian, Intellectus Prime on Academy.

2. That video is on normal and says nothing about how well the skill will scale in the late game.
