infernal blow and resolute technique

Im running a blood magic marauder using infernal blow with melee splash and multistrike. one of the passives i picked up is resolute technique. Things have been going fine until tonite I log in and over half of my infernals are missing completely. I'm level 46 and just barely into act 3 cruel. Anyone have any insight into this?
