Favorite Samurai movies

Yojimbo (1961)
The Seven Samurai (1954)
The Samurai trilogy (1954 1956)
Zatoichi The Blind Swordsman (1962 and on)
Sword of Doom (1966)

Not to be confused with some great supernatural films such as KWAIDAN.
Have you seen The Hunted (1995)?
Lone Wolf and Cub.

I prefer kung fu movies typically.
I am the light of the morning and the shadow on the wall, I am nothing and I am all.
I have not seen the hunted. But I will soon. EDIT: I have seen this. Its just been a long time.

As for Kung Fu, there are some greats to, I was remembering some of the great movies that I had watched not too long ago thanks to IFC (Independent Film Channel) running them as a series. I have missed Twilight Samurai as well.

I left Chushingura off by mistake.

I knew of the 13 assassins, but have not watched it. Thanks for another tip.
Don't forget to drink your milk 👌
Not exactly a samurai movie, but Goemon (2009). Also Samurai Cop, of course.
<Tyrfalger> Exactly, the next act is going outside Sarn and into those wheat fields (see the map) to become a farmer. Then we can spend our days endlessly farming. Wait a minute...
Kill Bill!
More of a Kung fu movie but wanted to mention.

The Magic Blade (1976) watched it recently and loved it.
"Withdrawing in disgust is not the same as apathy"

It's a shame i always forget which are the real good kung fu movies.

There is of course the classic 36 chamber movies.

From others that i recall liking i can remember:

Shaolin vs Lama
Executioners from Shaolin
Shaolin Soul AKA Arhats in Fury
8 Diagram Pole Fighter
Fatal Flying Guillotines
I am the light of the morning and the shadow on the wall, I am nothing and I am all.
the last samurai

let's face it. Tom Cruise is best samurai.

Hah not really, but it is a decent movie. 13 assassins is very good movie. ghost dog is excellent movie. The RZA does particularly good Japanese inspired sound tracks.
